Happy Boxing Day! Now that I’m done knitting 17 dishcloths for Christmas, I am ready to start on my next project: socks!
Sock-making involves knitting on double-pointed needles. I, of course, did my research by reading articles and watching videos about the process of knitting in the round. It looks like I am trying to manhandle a porcupine with all my bamboo needles clacking together and jutting out at awkward angles.
I had a minor mishap while shaping the heel, so I had to pull out about 15 rows and start again. I was very sad.

…This is what it looks like when I try to knit socks and frown.

I’m pretty sure my gauge is changing as I attempt different parts of the sock. As such, I will end up with lopsided, huge-normous socks that will only fit those with ill-proportioned appendages. Hell, I might not even make it to the second sock, so I’ll just have to donate this to someone with only one foot.
…will let you know how this grand experiment goes later.
It looks good so far! I got the supplies to start my cowl. I’m psyched!
I applaud you for tackling this! Especially since you are teaching yourself!
